# R10 / BYU FPM Scroll Concept Notes

This is a standalone concept prototype. It does not depend on, modify, or integrate with the existing BYU FPM/R10 preview projects.

## Asset Direction

- Slice the approved R10/BYU FPM hero or infographic artwork into separate transparent layers: sky/background wash, mountains or campus context, primary route/path line, students/people, facilities/buildings, foreground texture, and final CTA elements.
- Keep each layer wider than the viewport by roughly 10-20% so parallax motion does not expose edges.
- Export real art as optimized WebP or PNG with transparent backgrounds where needed. SVG is fine for simple route lines, labels, and diagram strokes.
- Preserve the current BYU FPM visual language: navy anchor color, warm paper background, gold highlight, blueprint grid, and simple editorial illustration.

## Scroll Story Structure

- Opening scene: Firewatch-style depth, with campus/facilities and student figures moving at different speeds.
- Pinned pathway: the long pathway infographic should become a route map. Each scroll checkpoint should spotlight one stop rather than showing the whole strip at once.
- Mid-page diagram: use SBS/NASA-style scrollytelling. Keep one sticky visual and let short copy panels advance the graphic.
- Reveal moments: borrow the Species in Pieces feeling by assembling career clusters and proof points from small geometric/illustrated fragments.
- Product-style focus: use Apple-like pinned sections for important outcomes, where one statistic, role, or employer cluster is emphasized at a time.

## Production Considerations

- Add keyboard and reduced-motion behavior before integration.
- Replace placeholder CSS shapes with final sliced art, but keep the same semantic sections and scroll timing model.
- Test desktop, tablet, and mobile separately. On mobile, allow some pinned scenes to become stacked sections if the viewport is too short.
- Keep this as a standalone exploration until the final R10/BYU FPM rendition is selected.
